CITRUS POPPY SCRUBBER

A “sunshiny” citrus bar that dutifully exfoliates due to the added poppy seeds throughout. Citrus scents in general are known to be cheerful and up-lifting. They are “top note” which makes them noticed first as being the stronger more dominant scents within a combination of scents, balanced by other middle or base scents for a longer lasting scent memory. Lemon and litsea cubeba are the citrus essential oil contributions while frankincense, a “smokier”, more dense aroma acts as the balancer. Dried safflowers and calendula petals are infused in organic green tea (there’s that “sip”) to create the natural yellow hue. Poppy seeds provide the stimulating scrubbing aspect.

All bars are individually hand poured so may vary slightly in color, size and shape from batch to batch and therefore may differ from the actual photos shown. However,
they measure 3.25 inches x 2.25 inches x 1 inch (like a deck of cards) and weigh approximately 5 ounces.

FYI:
Lemon essential oil is known for a fresh & sharp aroma, very cheering and for its astringent qualities as well.

Litsea cubeba essential oil (also known as May Chang) is a warm, lemony, almost lemongrass scent that is fresh, uplifting and awakening.

Frankincense is well known as a gift of the Magi - it is a tree resin with a balsamic aroma, antiseptic, astringent & anti-inflammatory.

Safflower leaves are infused to borrow the natural coloring. They are in the sunflower family and the plant in general is antioxidant.

Calendula petals also used for natural coloring - sometimes used in baths as a stimulant.

Organic green tea is the base used to infuse the dried flower petals - it is known to be antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial within the long list of its properties

Poppy seeds act as an exfoliant and helps to moisturize & nourish the skin.

GLYCERIN SOAP BASE INGREDIENTS - WHITE & CLEAR:
Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerin, Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Sorbitol, Propylene Glycol, Sorbitan Oleate, Oat Protein, Titanium Dioxide (can be labeled vegan as per resource), organic green tea, litsea cubeba and lemon essential oils, frankincense resin, calendula & safflower petals and poppy seeds

Trying to keep the products as natural as possible, I chose to create them with the addition of beneficial pure essential “oils”- which are potent plant based extractions from leaves, stems, roots or flowers of the plant or tree (that must be used appropriately, not to be used by those pregnant as a precaution).

Test soap on inside wrist if prone to sensitivity and wait 24 hours before full use.

These bars are made with an all glycerin soap base which is part of the regular lye soap making process. Glycerin’s main job is to pull and keep moisture close to itself which is why it is so moisturizing to the skin. However, due to its draw to moisture it can not be left sitting in water because it will absorb it and turn the whole bar gelatinous. Please remove to a soap dish or from direct constant contact with water.
